As Generation 8 of ranked draws to a close, we now have the ruleset for the final complete series of play, Series 13. And it's a spin on Mythical Melee, which is pretty bananas, but not as bananas as, say, doing away with species clause, as was the case with Ultra Final, the conclusion to Generation 7.

   Now, because Generation 9 rolls out in mid-November and Series 13 only last until the end of October, I am not ruling out the possibility of a truncated Series 14 actually going the route of Ultra Final, of course. But by that point, how much appetite are players going to have for SWSH when the next game is out? Not very much, I'd say.

   Still, as far as I am concerned, the changes brought about by Series 13 are most welcome, because, frankly, anything is preferable to the extended length of Series 12, arguably the worst ruleset to befall all of Generation 8, we have just undergone. And seeing off SWSH to the tune of Zacian plus one would have left a bad taste in my mouth, to say the least.
